Cynthia Tysdahl, age 55, of Hubbard, IA, died Thursday, March 10 at Mary Greeley  Medical Center in Ames.

Cynthia Rae Tysdahl was born June 8, 1955 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Richard and Joyce Joan Stolte.  She passed away on March 10, 2011 after a strong and courageous battle against brain cancer. Cyn was baptized, confirmed, and attended K-8 School at Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1973.  In 1977 she graduated from Concordia Teacher’s College in Seward, Nebraska with a teaching and coaching degree.  She spent one year of teaching kindergarten in Chaska, Minnesota.  On July 15, 1978 she married Alvern Tysdahl, and together they raised four boys: Chad, Troy, Blake, and Grant, on a farm outside of Garden City, Iowa.
Those who knew Cyn remember her for her unwavering faith in God and outpouring of love for her family as a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to all who crossed her path.  Cyn’s passion for teaching and helping others was evident in the amount of lives she influenced in more than 20 years as a teacher.  When she was not teaching, Cyn could be found cheering at many events, as she had a true love of sports, especially the Rebels and Bearcats.  She was a devoted fan and friend, and used her caring and loving attitude to develop strong relationships that bonded like family.  Cyn spent countless hours perfecting her flowers and mowing on the farm, and frequently enjoyed antiquing road trips with her friends.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her father, Richard Stolte and father and mother in law, Clarence and Adelaide Tysdahl.  She is survived by her mother, Joyce Joan Stolte; husband, Alvern; sons, Chad and his daughters, Isabelle and Sophia, Troy and his wife Carrie (and baby to be), Blake, and Grant; sister Diane Nelson and her husband Milo, along with numerous other extended family members and friends.
She will be missed by many, loved by all, and not soon forgotten.
